
Diversity Psychology and Consulting, Inc. was founded by Dr. Shih-Ying Sherry Shaw with the mission of providing high-quality, culturally-sensitive psychological and consulting services to better serve the needs of an ever-evolving, diverse, and vibrant community in Southern California. S. Sherry Shaw, Psy.D.
Dr. Shaw is a licensed clinical psychologist (CA PSY26722) with specialties in multiculturalism and diversity issues. She has enjoyed working with ethnically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse clients throughout her career in various settings. With relational sensitivity and warmth, Dr. Shaw strives to provide professional services that are collaborative, enriching, and empowering. She is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English.

Kevin M. Ramotar, Psy.D.
Director of Informational and Technological Services
Dr. Ramotar is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY26571) who specializes in psychological assessment and psychotherapy (depression, grief, anxiety, identity, personal growth, and men’s issues). His own 1st generation multiracial male experience has nurtured his focus on cultural diversity and the intersectionality of identity that also seeks to understand the contexts of distress for people of color.
In addition, Dr. Ramotar holds expertise in technology, has authored mobile applications, and an emerging expert in mental health technologies.
At Diversity Psychology and Consulting, Dr. Ramotar conducts clinical services, and diversity consultation to organizations through training and education.

Koko Nishi, Psy.D.
Outreach Coordinator
Dr. Koko Nishi is a licensed clinical psychologist in California (PSY 27161). She is a graduate of the George Washington University’s Professional Psychology program and serves as the Outreach Coordinator at Diversity Psychology and Consulting, Inc. Prior to completing her doctorate program, she received her masters in Psychology and Education at Teacher’s College Columbia University. Dr. Nishi completed her predoctoral internship at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC. She also completed her postdoctoral residency at University of California, San Diego, Counseling and Psychological Services. Dr. Nishi’s areas of focus include multiculturalism, social justice and diversity education. She has designed, administered and facilitated social justice educational and leadership programs throughout various educational institutions such as UC San Diego, Columbia University and UC Berkeley. Her previous experiences in higher education, residence life, diversity training, multicultural affairs, international education and leadership development help to inform her approach in providing innovative and effective services. Dr. Nishi is currently employed as a contract psychologist at San Diego State University Counseling & Psychological Services.
